1. How tools get listed

Free Launch listings go live after the official ToolifyNav Listed badge image and backlink are verified on the maker site. Paid plans (Premium Launch and Highlight) publish after successful payment, and are transparently labeled as sponsored. All listings must point to real, functioning products; spam, malicious links, or broken submissions are removed.

2. How we evaluate tools

For listings with evaluation notes (Best for, Strengths, Trade-offs, Verdict), our editors try the product hands-on where possible and cross-check the vendor's own documentation and pricing pages. Notes describe fit, not absolute quality: a tool can be excellent and still be the wrong pick for your job.

3. Rankings are not for sale

The Popular page ranks tools by real detail-page views from directory visitors. Category, tag, collection, and search ordering are driven by relevance and editorial curation. Paid plans never change these organic rankings.

Highlight and Featured placements are dedicated, clearly labeled — never a higher organic Popular position. When a placement is paid for, it is presented as sponsored.

4. Links and conflicts of interest

Free Launch listings link out with rel="ugc nofollow". Premium Launch and Highlight plans include a direct dofollow link to the official website on the dedicated tool detail page, while sponsored placements in curated feeds are transparently labeled. Free listings ask makers to display a "Listed on ToolifyNav" badge; that badge link is nofollow by design — it verifies the listing. Badge artwork and placement rules are on the badge guidelines page. Popular rankings are never sold.

5. Updates and corrections

Listings are living documents. Makers can edit their details at any time (material changes go through re-review), and we periodically re-check that listed sites are still online. If you spot something outdated or wrong, tell us — corrections are published as soon as they are verified.

6. Who writes our content

Reviews, collections, and blog articles are produced by the ToolifyNav editorial team. We do not publish vendor-written "reviews" as editorial content, and we do not accept payment for editorial coverage.

7. Anti-scaled content and search indexing standards

ToolifyNav does not mass-generate indexable alternatives or compare pages. We build our directory for human practitioners evaluating software, with strict quality gates:

• Editorial evaluations required: Compare pages (/compare/tool-a-vs-tool-b) and alternatives pages (/alternatives/tool-slug) are eligible for search indexing only when backed by genuine editorial evaluation (structured notes including verdict, verified strengths, trade-offs, and best-for use cases). Unreviewed or category-fallback alternatives remain accessible for user discovery but are marked noindex.
• Thin and empty taxonomy protection: Category, subcategory, tag, and collection pages that lack a sufficient shortlist of live tools (or have zero live listings) are strictly marked noindex,follow. We never display templated marketing copy or placeholder claims on empty directory pages.
