What to know

Editorial notes based on the vendor's own documentation and public pricing, plus hands-on testing where a score or review is shown above. They describe fit for a job, not absolute quality.

Best for

  • Developers building multilingual meeting assistants
  • Contact-center and voice-agent platforms
  • Media teams needing accurate subtitles with precise timestamps

Not ideal for

  • Users wanting a ready-made transcription app with editing UI
  • Projects requiring fully offline on-premise models on a small budget
  • Teams needing text-to-speech from the same vendor

Key features

  • Async and real-time speech-to-text APIs on Solaria models
  • 100+ languages with code-switching and word-level timestamps
  • Diarization, translation, summarization and entity recognition
  • Blind STT comparison tool, benchmarks and TCO calculator
  • Volume discounts, top-up bonuses and startup credits program

Pros

  • Very low entry price for async transcription
  • Generous free credits for evaluation
  • Strong multilingual focus, especially for European languages

Cons

  • Euro pricing can complicate budgeting for non-EU buyers
  • Developer API only, with limited end-user tooling
  • Real-time pricing is several times the async rate

ToolifyNav verdict

Gladia is a strong contender for developers whose users speak many languages and switch between them mid-conversation. Low async pricing, generous free credits and transparent volume discounts make it easy to evaluate, while the blind test tool encourages buyers to compare on their own audio rather than marketing claims. It remains an API-first service, and real-time usage is notably more expensive than batch. Teams building multilingual meeting, contact-center or subtitle products should include it in any speech-to-text bake-off, ideally testing the same files on both Solaria models.

About

About Gladia

Gladia is a Paris-founded audio infrastructure company that provides speech-to-text APIs for developers. It offers two main products: asynchronous transcription for recorded files and real-time transcription for live streams such as voice agents, meeting assistants and contact centers. Both run on Gladia's Solaria model family, which the company promotes for accuracy across more than 100 languages, strong handling of code-switching between languages in one conversation, precise word timestamps and robustness to accents and noisy audio.

Audio intelligence features layer on top of transcription, including speaker diarization, translation, summarization, named-entity recognition, sentiment analysis and custom vocabulary. Gladia publishes comparisons against Deepgram, AssemblyAI and ElevenLabs, offers a blind test tool where users can upload audio and vote on transcripts with model names hidden, and provides a TCO calculator and compliance hub for buyers. GladiaFlow is a consumer-facing app built on the same technology.

Pricing is self-serve pay-as-you-go with automatic volume discounts, plus enterprise contracts with SLAs and dedicated support. New accounts receive 50 euros in free credits valid for one year, and a startup program offers additional credits.
