ToolifyNav verdict
Vibe is Mistral's attempt to turn a capable chatbot into a working agent, and the bundling is the story: the same $14.99 Pro plan covers research, document work and a terminal-to-IDE coding agent. That is aggressive pricing, and for European organizations the self-hosting and residency options are a genuine differentiator rather than marketing garnish. The caveats are maturity and naming. Connectors are beta, the Le Chat-to-Vibe switch will scramble search results and internal docs for a while, and power users should compare limits on their real workloads. As an all-round assistant with a sovereignty angle, it deserves a serious trial.
About
About Mistral Vibe (Le Chat)
Mistral Vibe is the new name for Le Chat, the consumer and team assistant from Paris-based Mistral AI. Mistral says existing conversations, settings and plans carried over. The product now has two halves under one subscription: Vibe for work, the chat assistant and agent for research, documents and automation, and Vibe for code, a coding agent that runs in the terminal, inside IDEs, or as remote background agents that open pull requests.
On the work side, Vibe handles web search, deep research reports, document libraries and uploads, a canvas for drafting, project folders, image generation, voice mode and a verified-news feature. Connectors (more than 100, in beta) and custom MCP connectors pull in email, calendars, chat and internal knowledge, and task scheduling lets you set recurring jobs or package workflows as reusable agents with human checkpoints. The code side scaffolds multi-file features with tests, reads GitHub, GitLab and Jira context, and can run migrations or dependency upgrades.
Mistral's pitch to organizations is ownership: models can be fine-tuned on company data, deployed privately in any cloud or datacenter, and some open-weight models can be self-hosted. Enterprise adds SAML SSO, audit logs and white labeling. For individuals, the free tier gives limited messages, searches and coding sessions; Pro raises the ceilings considerably.
