Bolt.new (StackBlitz) uses WebContainers so a generated full-stack app previews in the tab. The job is speed-to-demo: investor walkthroughs, hackathon MVPs, “what if it looked like this?” Treat the output as a prototype until auth, data, and deploy survive a hostile review. Shipping the first HTML is easy. Surviving traffic is a different project.
Native mobile, serious monorepos, and regulated data outgrow the sandbox. Export or rebuild in Cursor when engineering standards kick in. Lovable is the other vibe-coding shell. v0 is React components. Replit is a longer-lived cloud IDE.
If the question is “should this product exist?”, Bolt is appropriate. If the question is “will this pass architecture review?”, move the code.
Do not demo credentials in a throwaway preview and then forget they were real.
Record the demo with fake data. Real emails in a preview you will forget is how founders leak a waitlist. Treat the tab as hostile until export. If the demo needs production data, it is not a demo anymore.
