Notion AI
AI inside the wiki you already use: summaries and drafts next to the source page.

Evaluation
What to know
Best for
- Teams whose system of record is already Notion
- Summaries that must stay on the source page
- Wiki-heavy orgs that hate chat silos
Not ideal for
- Companies that are not in Notion yet
- Long documents that will never be imported
- Workspaces with sloppy sharing and no appetite to fix it
Key features
- In-page summarize and draft
- Context from the surrounding wiki
- Same permissions model as the rest of Notion
- Q&A over workspace content (plan dependent)
Pros
- No export step
- The AI sits where the work already lives
Cons
- Leaks if sharing is already a mess
- Weak on documents that are not in Notion
ToolifyNav verdict
Notion AI is an amplifier of the workspace you have, including the ugly parts. ChatGPT and Claude remain better for long outside documents. Superhuman remains better for inbox. Typeahead remains better for local caret completion. Turn it on after teamspaces and guest rules are boringly correct. If you cannot explain who can see a page, you are not ready for a button that summarizes it. Confirm which AI features your plan actually includes — marketing pages and the seat you bought still drift.
About
About Notion AI
Notion AI is valuable only when Notion already holds the wiki, the meeting notes, and the specs. The draft appears on the page. That sounds small until you have lived through export theater — copy from a chat, paste into a doc, lose the source, argue about versions.
Permissions are the product. Loose sharing plus a summarize button is how a strategy page becomes lunch conversation in another teamspace. Design the spaces before you turn the feature on for everyone.
It will not become Claude for a 200-page external PDF you never imported. It will not become Linear for engineering execution. Fireflies and Otter still capture the call. The win is zero-distance between the note and the rewrite.
If the company is not actually in Notion, buying Notion for the AI is backwards. Import the pages that matter, fix guests, then turn the feature on — not the other way around. A summarize button on a messy wiki just scales the mess.
