Keenious is a literature discovery assistant for students, researchers, and librarians who want related academic work grounded in real publications — not hallucinated citations. It searches 250+ million works via OpenAlex, flags open access through Unpaywall, and can explain dense methods without writing the paper for you. The product ethos is research capability building: transparent results you can inspect, not an essay factory.
Practical entry points include uploading or pasting text from a draft, chatting about papers, highlighting passages for clarification, and working in nearly 100 languages while still showing sources in their original language. Microsoft Word and Google Docs add-ins keep recommendations beside the document you are already writing. Universities can connect link resolvers (EBSCO, PRIMO, and similar) so subscribed holdings surface inside the same flow.
Privacy defaults delete uploaded PDFs and conversations after one day. Free accounts get all search results but tight AI conversation caps (about 5 responses per conversation and 3 conversations per day) with a 3 MB upload limit.
