Evaluation
What to know
Best for
- Brand and product designers
- Icon, logo, and mockup sets
- People who need SVG, not only raster
- Locked style across a batch
Not ideal for
- Prompt-only art exploration with no delivery format
Key features
- Text-to-image with a design canvas
- True SVG export
- Style locking across a set
- In-canvas edit and mockups
Pros
- The file can actually enter a design system
- Consistency tools that match brand work
Cons
- Less “dreamy gallery” energy than Midjourney
- Credits climb when you iterate like a moodboard
ToolifyNav verdict
Recraft is the listing to open when the question is “can I hand this to production?” not “is this the prettiest image of a cathedral?” Midjourney and Flux still win plenty of aesthetic races. Ideogram still wins long words painted into the scene. Firefly still wins if Adobe is the house toolchain and legal will not discuss anything else. Choose Recraft when the next destination is Figma, a printer, or a logo that must remain a vector. Confirm SVG quality on your actual mark — not the demo icons — before you retire the human illustrator on the account.
About
About Recraft
Most image models hand you a PNG and a shrug. Recraft is trying to be the tool a designer opens when the next file has to survive Figma, print, or a logo lockup.
The SVG path is the tell. Midjourney will give you a more seductive illustration. Flux hosts will give you API fidelity. Ideogram will put longer words on the picture. Recraft’s bet is that a set of icons, a mockup, and a brand style can stay consistent and still be edited as vectors — not traced later by a junior designer who has better things to do.
Style locking is the other half. Moodboard culture is cheap; shipping a kit that does not drift every generation is not. Recraft is weaker as a late-night art toy. It is stronger at 11:00 on a Wednesday when someone asked for twelve app icons that look like they came from one hand.
If you only want to explore aesthetics, stay in Midjourney. If legal already standardized on Firefly inside Creative Cloud, stay there. Come here for files.
