About

About Claude Code

Terminal-shaped agent work

Claude Code assumes you are comfortable in a shell, pointing at a project directory, and letting an agent run multi-step work with Claude as the reasoning layer. The mental model is closer to “delegate a task” than “accept autocomplete.”

Good first experiments

  • Wire a missing test suite around a legacy module
  • Migrate a config format across several packages
  • Draft a changelog from recent commits, then edit for accuracy

When the GUI still wins

If designers pair on UI and need visual diffs inside the editor chrome, a full AI IDE (Cursor / Windsurf) is less friction. If policy forbids Anthropic tooling, stop before you invest in muscle memory.

Companion tools

Aider for open, git-native CLI editing with model choice; Copilot for lightweight completion inside the corporate IDE; Continue when you want open backends inside VS Code.
